Kingsley dubs Erwin Schrödinger "Mongul #1" and there is a good reason for this. The experiment is set up so the wall detects the location where the electron interacts with the wall, and then sends a signal that executes the cat (by releasing a fast-acting poison gas) if the electron hits the bottom half of the wall, or protects the cat (by turning off the gas-releasing device) if the electron hits the top half. Line spectra (e.g. of atomic hydrogen) as evidence of transitions between discrete energy levels in atoms.

Average velocity: velocity measured over a finite time interval. Then the (size of the) quantum potential provides a measure of the deviation of Bohmian mechanics from its classical approximation. Creation of information structures means that in parts of the universe the local entropy is actually going down. They are caused due to varying electric and magnetic fields. We can predict statistically where a photon is likely to go (based on the patterns that emerge), but not where an individual photon will go. (It might occur to you to wonder if the initial conditions are really the same.

A one-dimensional harmonic wave (Figure 1) is described by the equation, where A0 is the wave amplitude, w is the circular frequency; k is the wave number; and j is an initial, constant phase. Energy, mass and momentum are all conserved for both light and matter, completing the triad of conservation relationships outlined earlier by Helmholtz, Einstein and de Broglie. Some find "constants of the motion" better. If n is a function of k, the calculation is more complicated, but the principle is the same.

If the photon energy, hω, exceeds EB, then ¯ electrons are emitted, otherwise they are not. At first, attempts to advance Bohr's quantum ideasthe so-called old quantum theorysuffered one defeat after another. Methods will include Uv-Vis, Infrared, and Raman spectroscopy, atomic force, optical and electronic microscopies, X-ray diffraction and photoluminescence measurements. So it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that physicists will be able to see quantum-like behaviour at this level.

So, perhaps in equations, it's easier to think of interpretation. Only effective for wavelengths greater than 2 head diameters (ear-to-ear distances). I argue that both the equivalence and Copenhagen Interpretation can be deemed myths if one predicates the philosophical and historical analysis on a narrow model of physical theory which disregards its historical context, and focuses exclusively on its formal aspects and the exploration of the logical models supposedly implicit in it.

Instead of a particle being separated from its properties, they suggest that the results can be explained by a standard quantum effect, quantum interference, in which an individual particle interferes with itself due to its wave-like properties. Of course we can do better, since “textbook quantum mechanics” is an embarrassment. A recent rethinking of the early history of Quantum Mechanics deemed the late 1920s agreement on the equivalence of Matrix Mechanics and Wave Mechanics, prompted by Schrödinger’s 1926 proof, a myth.

Our mathematical formulations of Quantum Physics let us calculate a probability for the electron hitting the top half or bottom half, but will not give a definite answer about where the electron will hit, and thus whether the cat will live or die.
