In the famous double slit experiment, a beam of particles such as electrons, travels through a double slit and then hits a screen behind where the arrival of each electron is recorded at a specific point on the screen. Events A and C correspond to these position measurements for the stationary reference frame since they are respectively on the rear and front world lines of the object. In advanced topics of quantum mechanics, some of these behaviors are macroscopic and emerge at only extreme (i.e., very low or very high) energies or temperatures (such as in the use of superconducting magnets).

This “collapse” is the popular interpretation, at least, though much remains obscured. Solving this equation for y yields y = (∆kx /∆ky )x + mπ/∆ky, which corresponds to lines with slope ∆kx /∆ky. Although it is perfectly acceptable to begin a study of quantum mechanics by simply stating the Schrödinger equation, it is interesting to have a look at some of the motivation for it. We've put it by hand, yes, but we've produced a solution of the Schrodinger equation, which has another virtue. After describing the “strangeness” of wave/particles in physics, they try to pull the reader into their strange (and unconventional) metaphysics, by implying that the conventional physics leads to their unconventional metaphysics.
